be patience
We all hear the phrase “be patient” and we likely tell our children to be patient. And in our society, we rarely learn patience anymore. From fast food to high-speed internet, microwavable dinners to instant access to basically anything, we simply don’t have to wait or exercise patience.
And when we DO have to wait, we can quickly become frustrated and irritable. Seriously, do you know how painful it is to be linked to slow wifi and your web browser doesn’t load!? I can still remember a time without internet and still cannot stand waiting.
But we are called to be patience, having the capacity to wait, and be alright with waiting. Because in truth, though God has fulfilled many of His promises, there are still some we are waiting for.
So today, when you are waiting forever for the red light to turn green or having to wait on your children for the umpteenth time, don’t just be patient, but be patience itself.
