Escape the Normal
What is normal exactly? My definition of “normal” is “doing what everyone else does.”
Escaping the normal isn’t always easy. There are expectations on the things you do and the way you act, coming from society, family & friends, and even yourself. Doing what is expected and normal can sometimes stifle creativity, self-esteem, joy and our purpose.
I love knowing that we were all created in awe-inspiring and wonderful ways! If we did what “everyone else does” that doesn’t seem to cause anything awe-inspiring! (See Psalm 139:14) What a boring existence we would have if we were all the same!
As Christians, we are called to be different from and stop following everyone else. To choose a different route and be something unusual.
“Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad that leads to destruction, and those who enter through it are many.” Matthew 7:13 TLV
Please know, escaping the normal and having the freedom to be different is not an opening for sin. Escaping the normal is not an opportunity to be insolent or bad-mannered. Escaping the normal is to live a notably different life!
“Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2
