Just Breathe

We just came back from vacation, and it was amazing! However, since coming back, there have been many instances of wailing and gnashing of teeth, and NOT just from the kids… Yesterday was an extremely difficult day. So, today’s reminder is to “Just Breathe” and realign myself with the right spirit, and remember what is important.

It’s not always easy to stop, breathe and listen to the Holy Spirit, and not just listen, but follow through. Especially in the height of your emotions and stresses. It’s so much easier to just REACT! However, this usually does more damage than good. Damage to ourselves and our kids, or others around us.

Yesterday evening, after all the emotions had settled, I stopped, breathed, and had some heart to heart conversations with my son. He didn’t particularly enjoy it, but he heard what I had to say.

Part of Zephaniah 3:17 says, “Adonai your God will quiet you with His Love.” And I love this imagery, that His love alone can quiet the stress, anger, rage and frustrations. All I have to do is Just Breathe.
