I wrote a children’s book!

Can we all agree about how cute Little Squeak is?!

In the heartwarming story, “Squeak Sings!,” meet Little Squeak, an adorable hamster with a love for singing. However, Squeak’s sweet voice comes with a squeak that his peers find hilarious. With the support of his loving Ma, who reminds him that he is uniquely created by God, Squeak learns the invaluable lesson that his differences make him exceptional.

We all had stages in our lives where we were a bit awkward. In truth, I am still a bit weird and probably always will be. But because of your awkwardness, have you ever had a situation where you felt less than? Or someone pointed out, mocked, or picked on your differences? Did you feel beat down? God made us unique and God made us in His image. We should be confident in His creation!

Did you know young kids go through these feelings too? As early as pre-k, some children feel they are being targeted and picked on. Recently I heard a preschool child mention that the other kids wouldn’t play with her, and it broke my heart.

I have seen middle elementary students become recluse and depressed because they were picked on for their awkwardness and differences. And it took a while for them to be pulled from that pit.

This story is for those children. The ones who need a reminder that all praises are beautiful and joy can be found, even if we are a little awkward and different!
