One Thing
One thing. In Psalm 27:4, King David sought just one thing that he wanted from God. It was a close fellowship with God. He sought to dwell in Adonai’s house, behold Adonai’s beauty and meditate in Adonai’s temple.
To be honest, I do not seek that “one thing,” but instead I seek A LOT of things. In our day-to-day culture, it’s easy to seek modern comfort, warm beds, entertainment, financial security, well-educated children, and the list goes on. But can I strip all those things away and say I simply seek this one thing?
